Daily chess puzzles for kids and adults

E4 Chess Trainer gives kids and grown-ups a short daily plan with one clear next step. Puzzles come in themed sets, and spaced review brings back the ones worth seeing again. If you are setting up an account for a child under 13, a guardian needs to give consent before they can play.

Start today’s puzzle set

Open the E4 web app and follow the day’s plan. It points you to one main thing to do, so you never have to decide where to begin.

What’s free

The Free plan includes one daily puzzle set and five coach messages a month. It also gives you a plain-language review of every game you play. Paid plans are not billed yet: everyone starts on the Free plan, and any prices you see are launch estimates.

Find your starting level

New players start with a few positions or a quick self-rating. There is no timed test, and no score is shown.

Follow your daily plan

A day’s plan might be a puzzle theme, a drill and a review. It always has exactly one primary action. Start there rather than trying to do everything at once.

Themed sets and spaced review

Each set is built around one theme, so you meet the same idea more than once. Spaced review brings puzzles back after a gap, so you see them again once they are no longer fresh.

Progress without points

Every puzzle theme shows where you are: New, Learning, Practiced or Mastered. There is no points score and no public rating, so nobody, child or adult, has a number to fall behind on.

Coaching in plain words

The coach explains moves in plain words and never shows a raw engine evaluation or calls a move a blunder. When you review your own games, every game is engine-checked, but what you see is a plain-language explanation. You can walk through the key moments and try the better move yourself.

For parents

Children under 13 need guardian consent before they can play. There are no leaderboards and no public chat. Quiet hours mean the app sends no notifications at night, and a weekly progress report appears in the app. Read the privacy policy for how data is handled.

Web now, apps coming soon

E4 works in your browser today, in English and Russian. The iOS and Android apps are coming soon.
